What Does a Pool Actually Cost? Here's What Changes the Price.

We don't post a price, because two pools that look the same on paper can cost very different amounts to put in. Here's exactly what moves the number, so you know what you're paying for before we ever come out.

Why we don't just post a number

We don't post a price, because two pools that look the same on paper can cost very different amounts to put in. Here's exactly what moves the number, so you know what you're paying for before we ever come out.

Cost Drivers

What moves the price of a pool

Tap any card to see when it raises the price and when it keeps the job simpler. These are the things we look at when we walk your yard.

Raises the price when you go from above-ground to semi in-ground to a full in-ground build. Each step down into the ground is more excavation and more structure.

Keeps it simpler when you stay above-ground, which skips most of the digging and the in-ground structure.

Raises the price when you go bigger, or pick a custom shape with curves and angles. More pool means more materials, more water, and more time.

Keeps it simpler when you stick with a standard size and a simple round or oval shape.

Raises the price when the yard slopes, the ground needs a lot of leveling, or there's digging to do before anything goes in.

Keeps it simpler when the spot is already flat and open, so the base is quick to prep.

Raises the price when we hit rock on the dig. Rock takes extra time and the right equipment to get through, and that time shows up in the number.

Keeps it simpler when the soil digs clean and we don't run into rock or hardpan.

Raises the price when equipment can't get into the backyard easily — a tight side yard, a fence in the way, or a long carry-in by hand.

Keeps it simpler when a machine can roll straight from the truck to the site.

Raises the price when there's an old pool to take down, haul off, and clear before we can start the new one.

Keeps it simpler when the spot is empty and ready to go.

Raises the price when the power needs to run a long way out to the equipment, or the panel needs work to handle the load.

Keeps it simpler when there's power close to where the equipment will sit.

Raises the price when your town requires a fence, a barrier, or a pool alarm and you don't have one yet.

Keeps it simpler when you already have code-compliant fencing in place.

Raises the price when you add a deck or a patio around the pool. More square footage means more materials and more labor.

Keeps it simpler when you keep the surround simple or add it later.

Raises the price when you step up to a bigger pump, a larger filter, or add a heater. Each upgrade is its own line item.

Keeps it simpler when you go with standard equipment that matches the pool.

Raises the price when we have to undo or redo work another crew left — a bad base, the wrong parts, or a half-built pool that has to come out first.

Keeps it simpler when it's a clean start with nothing to fix before we begin.

What a Quote Should Include

Use this to compare any quote

A good quote spells out what's covered and what isn't. Tick these off as you read yours — or any quote you get from anyone. If a line is missing, that's a question to ask before you say yes.

These ticks are for your own use — nothing here is saved or sent.

Ways to Keep It Simpler

Choices that make the job cleaner

We're not promising savings — every yard is different. But these are the things that tend to make a pool project smoother, and a smoother job is usually a simpler number.

1

Choose a flat spot

A level, open area means less grading and less time on the base. Every bit of slope we have to cut into or build up is work, and work is what moves the number.

2

Keep a clear path for equipment

If a machine can roll straight to the site, the job moves faster. A tight side yard, a fence to take down, or a long carry-in by hand all add time to the install.

3

Decide on decking early

Decking and a pool patio are a big part of the feel and the number. If you know you want a deck, tell us up front so we can plan the pool and the deck together instead of coming back to it.

4

Book ahead of the busy season

Spring and early summer fill up fast. Booking ahead gives you more say over the schedule and lets us line up the yard walk, the materials, and the crew without a rush.

Why We Walk Your Yard First

We'd rather see it on foot than guess

A pool is a permanent part of your yard, and you don't know what's really under the ground until you look. That's why Dan walks the yard before we quote anything — to see the slope, the access, and get a sense of the soil, so the number we give you is a real one. Here's a customer who saw why that matters.

Parimutuel Pools installed our 24' round Radiant semi in ground pool last year, and we cannot speak highly enough of their professionalism and the quality of their work. Dan is fantastic. He went above and beyond to make sure the outcome of the excavation was exactly what we wanted, even after hitting some rocks along the way that meant extra time and effort on his part. We couldn't be happier with our pool, and we thank Parimutuel Pools for a job extremely well done!
