How to think about choosing a pool

The right pool depends less on what looks best in a photo and more on how you'll actually use it, what your yard will allow, and how long you plan to be in the house. An above-ground pool is fast to install and easy to take down — great for cooling off and shorter time horizons. A semi in-ground pool sits partway into the ground, giving you a more finished, permanent look on yards where a full in-ground build may not fit the budget or the slope.

A full in-ground pool is the most flexible — you set the depth, shape, and size — and it earns its keep when you're staying put and want the pool to be the heart of the yard. But every in-ground and semi in-ground build starts with the yard: access for equipment, soil, rock, and water all change what's possible. That's why we walk the yard before we quote anything.
