Pool Openings & Closings in the Capital Region

Twice a year your pool needs the opposite thing — opened up and running in the spring, closed down and protected in the fall. We handle openings and closings for both above-ground and in-ground pools across the Capital Region. An opening gets the cover off, the equipment started, and the water balanced so you can swim. A closing winterizes the pool, protects the lines and equipment, and covers it so a hard freeze doesn't do damage you'll pay for in the spring. We work out of Feura Bush and serve Albany, Schenectady, Saratoga and Rensselaer Counties.

How it works

From first call to clean yard

  1. 1

Call and tell us whether you need an opening or a closing, and the pool type.

  2. 2

We get you on the schedule around the season — spring for openings, fall for closings.

  3. 3

We come out and open or close the pool, handling the equipment and the water.

  4. 4

We check the equipment as part of the service and flag anything that needs attention.

  5. 5

We leave the pool ready to swim or protected for the cold, and clean up.

The honest part: timing and freeze damage

In the Capital Region, openings are typically late spring and closings are typically early-to-mid fall — but we won't promise you a date, because the weather decides. What we will tell you is what actually costs people money: a hard freeze with water still in the lines. That's the damage you don't see until you open the pool in the spring and find a cracked line or a split fitting. Closing on time, before the real cold sets in, is the part that matters. We'll get you on the schedule and tell you honestly when it's time.

A note on New York State pool code

New York State's Uniform Code sets safety requirements for residential pools, including barriers and pool alarms on new pools. Your local town or city building department enforces those rules, and most new pools need a building permit. We'll point you in the right direction, but it's the homeowner's job to check with their town on what's required where you live.

In their words

What a customer said

Dan's team did a terrific job with my takedown/rebuild of above ground pool. Lynn returned my call the same day and they were able to schedule me in the same week. Showed up on time and Dan was able to get extra parts needed for the install while it was being built. Team did great work going extra mile with some work on my deck around the pool, and pipe work to get the new filter in place. Finished in half a day and cleaned up after. Thanks!
